Through our educationally focused events, we convene CEOs and senior-level executives from all segments of the healthcare and life sciences industries to exchange ideas, discuss market trends, and explore solutions to the most pressing challenges facing a variety of roles within these organizations.  World Congress is now expanding its reach into the area of Medical Tourism and is seeking an Executive Director to build this new division.

Please note:  This is not a meeting planning (logistics focused) opportunity.  This is a market research, content-focused position.  The Executive Director will research industry trends and create agenda for B2B conferences in the area of medical tourism.

Position Description

The Executive Director will manage and launch a new portfolio of products in the area of Medical Tourism & Travel. Medical Tourism is the process of traveling, many times outside the country of residence, to receive medical care.  Medical tourism is now gaining attention from all parties involved in health care; the patients, providers, policy-makers, insurers and the media.   Today patients are demanding more transparency prior to making their decisions on where to receive care, and many times, after they have viewed the data surrounding costs and outcomes, they may not choose the nearest medical facility and instead elect to travel to receive their care.

The right candidate is entrepreneurial and will have a displayed a passion for the conference and events industry, and possesses a strong track record of producing world class events within the conference industry.


  • Creating and implementing the strategic direction of the new conference division
  • Full P & L Responsibility for the Medical Tourism Portfolio
  • Conference Agenda and Content Creation
  • Assessing industry trends to build commercially viable conferences

Salary: $130K+

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years conference production experience
  • Superior phone research skills
  • Executive Level Writing and Communication
  • Project management skills -  excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet multiple deadlines
  • Commercial understanding of the conference vertical
  • High energy and the ability to succeed amidst multiple deadlines
