The Director of Mission Integration leads and coordinates resources to ensure that Catholic Identity, Mission and Core Values of Mercy Health and Trinity Health are integrated into all operations.  Primary accountability for the above responsibilities is grounded in Trinity Health's strategic plan that outlines the essential work for Mission integration.

Essential Functions:

  • Participation as a full member of Mercy Health Saint Mary's Senior Leadership Team, including strategic planning and implementation, LEAN management, etc.
  • Ensures that Catholic identity, Mission, Core Values are integrated into all operations.

  • Provides/provides for orientation, education and ongoing formation in Catholic identity, Mission, Core Values for leaders, colleagues, Board of Trustees.

  • Provides strategic leadership for Spiritual Care Services (Chaplains) and workplace spirituality.  Oversees (in conjunction with the Mercy Health Muskegon Director of Mission Integration) the Manager of Spiritual Care (Chaplain) services in matters that directly impact spiritual care for MHSM's.

  • Facilitates clinical ethics committee and related organizational ethics education and integration; serves as a resource for ethics consultation services.

  • Facilitates the use of Mission Discernment processes into organizational decision making.

  • Provides Mission/Core Value perspectives for Community Benefit planning and program development.

  • Assesses and provides Mission integration support and guidance for Mercy Health Physician Practices and appropriate ACO entities.

  • Works effectively in a matrix reporting and collaboratively with the Regional VP for Mission Integration and Mercy Health Muskegon Director of Mission Integration for mission and core value advancement across Mercy Health Region.

  • Actively participates in Trinity Health Mission Council and related committees and functional teams.

  • Coordinates pre-planning and Catholic Identity organizational assessment processes (Promoting Catholic Identity); ensures inclusion of report into organization's strategic and operational planning.

  • Promotes positive relationships with the local Bishop and Catholic Diocese.
